Six of Pentacles
Tarot Card Meaning – Upright & Reversed
About the Six of Pentacles
A wealthy merchant in red robes weighs coins on a scale and distributes them to two kneeling beggars. The scales symbolise justice in giving: not sentimental charity but measured generosity that maintains balance. The merchant gives freely but wisely. The beggars receive gratefully. The cycle of abundance flows.
Upright Meaning
Upright, the Six of Pentacles speaks to the generous circulation of wealth, time, and resources. You may be in a position to give, or you may need to receive — both are honourable positions. Generosity without strings attached creates abundance for everyone in the circle. Accept help when it is offered; give freely when you can.
Reversed Meaning
Reversed, the Six of Pentacles warns of generosity with hidden conditions, an imbalance in giving and receiving, or charity used as a means of control. Someone may be giving in order to hold power over the recipient. Alternatively, you may be giving to exhaustion while neglecting your own needs, or refusing to accept help out of pride.
